Organizers setting up for the San Diego rally today have placed 4,000 pink flags along the Embarcadero Marina Park to remember the number of laid off teachers in their region.

400 chairs have been placed outside the State Capitol to represent the 40,000 educators (30,000 teachers and 10,000 support professionals) who have been laid off over the past 3 years due to the state budget crisis. This is NOT business as usual. Our schools are being decimated – it’s time we all stand up and fight for them!
